Statement by Global Citizens on the Release of U.S. Citizen Stephen Hubbard

The Global Citizens International Movement welcomes the efforts of First Lady of the United States of America Melania Trump and recognizes the significant contribution of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to securing the release of U.S. citizen Stephen Hubbard from imprisonment in Russia.

Global Citizens attaches particular importance to efforts to bring American citizens home and reunite them with their families. The Movement considers the resolution of such cases an important area of humanitarian cooperation that should be maintained irrespective of existing differences between states.

Global Citizens expresses the hope that constructive dialogue on humanitarian matters will continue, mindful of the need to safeguard individual rights and uphold respect for human dignity.

The Movement wishes Stephen Hubbard a safe return home and reunion with his family and loved ones.
